Technical Documentation: Mapping Multimodal Companions to Context Engines
The migration from **Voxta** to **TextGenWebUI** represents a technical process of re-mapping a hardware-aware "Companion Identity" into a format optimized for linguistic inference. While Voxta focuses on high-immersion features like voice and movement, TextGenWebUI is designed for the absolute depth of model orchestration and prompt engineering.
1. Key Schema Remapping
Voxta uses a rigid PascalCase JSON structure designed to drive specialized inference weights. Fields like Personality and Description are used to calibrate its behavioral engine. TextGenWebUI thrives when character logic is consolidated into its context and greeting fields. The name, description, personality, scenario, first message and example dialogue are mapped one-to-one from the Voxta data to TextGenWebUI.
2. Working with Oobabooga Context Windows
Voxta companions often contain metadata optimized for its companion backend. Local models running in TextGenWebUI are often more sensitive to context window limits. Your character is converted in full rather than shortened; trim it by hand if TextGenWebUI has a size limit. This ensures that your companion remains detailed and coherent without overwhelming the local LLM's memory, resulting in faster inference and more relevant responses.
3. Dialogue and Greeting Fields
We extract the "First Message" from Voxta and map it directly to the TextGenWebUI greeting field. The converter maps fields only; apart from the small changes listed below, it does not edit, clean up or reformat the text inside them. This is critical because TextGenWebUI supports a vast array of model formats (GGUF, EXL2) that interpret dialogue cues differently. 4. Privacy and Data Sovereignty
Just like the tools we bridge, our converter prioritizes privacy. By using a "Zero-Server" architecture, we perform the entire schema translation within your browser's RAM. Your companion's intimate details and creative backstory are never transmitted across the open web. This ensures that you maintain total control over your digital assets as you move them between the industry's leading AI platforms.
5. Library Integration and Ease of Use
When you export to TextGenWebUI, our tool generates a standardized JSON file that is ready for instant use in your characters folder. This ensures that your Voxta companions are integrated perfectly with the webui's library management features, allowing you to leverage the full power of local model orchestration without losing the nuanced personalities you've crafted for your high-immersion companion.
